The "Sutlej-Yamuna connection" canal, which is now being built and was intended to share Punjab's waters with Haryana, is what the song's title, "SYL," stands for.
The song, performed, written, and arranged by the late singer Moosewala, highlights a number of problems Punjab is currently dealing with.
"SYL" also makes notice of Sikh prisoners and the current farm movement.
On May 29, while his route to the Jawaharke village in the Mansa district, Moosewala was shot and killed.
1. The Appeal of Sidhu's Father
Balkaur Singh, the father of Sidhu Moosewala, has pleaded with his son's admirers to only pay them a visit on Sunday so that the family may process the untimely death of their son.
The new song "SYL" by the recently deceased singer Sidhu Moosewala reached one million views on YouTube within a few hours of its release this evening.
2. Sidhu always advocated the Reality of the Times
As per the rapper's fans, Sidhu Moosewala was cherished in light of the fact that he generally portrayed the reality of his times and urged the adolescent to understand that the answer for their hond (presence) didn't lie in leaving their towns.
Through this tune, he talks around one of the major questions that keep on going about as a bone of conflict in the state - the water imparting issue to local states like Haryana.
3. SYL : Quite Different from Other Song
What is the song SYL about?
The newly released song is quite different from what most people are accustomed to.
It's an edgy affair that has got many singers hooked to each other as we see each member of the band getting in sync with their own unique sound.
The lyrics and vocals have been written by none other than the late musician Sidharth. His last song “Yeh Jaati Hai” had already received over three hundred thousand views.
He was previously known for his hit songs like "Na Raani" (which has now seen four times) and "Shoosh Bali Baah".
He was also part of Krantiya fame that produced many talented dancers including Manoj Bajpayee, Ananya Panday, Sreenivasan, Raghika Mohan.
However, it was Sidhu who came up with "SYL", which was meant to be about something serious but just seemed to become a bit too much.
Most things seem to get out of hand after ten years or so when it comes to these kinds of stories but there is always someone special about you.
The melody begins with Moosewala requesting power over the grounds that was given to Haryana, Chandigarh and Himachal (Originally, they were essential for Punjab or the Sikh realm).
"Till you give us move away, we won't provide you with a drop of Punjab's water", he sings. ("Goodness, jinna chir saanu sway da raah ni dinde, ohna chir paani chhado tupka ni dinde… ")
4. Sidhu's New Role: Writing Songs
Throughout this journey however, Sidhu was finding solace in writing songs where he could express himself more freely than what he would otherwise be able to on stage.
There was even a brief period at one point when the two members of the group decided to write down a track titled "Anshu" and gave the title to Sidhu and Arjun.
This was done to ensure that no matter what happened later on and Sidhu had all the control in the future.
Once Sidhu left us, he didn't take long in letting anyone know that he and his team would write another song and take it to their next level.
5. Praise for his Huge Comeback
Sidhu’s friends and family all congratulated him on making such a huge comeback to the music and singing scene.
To add to that, there was enough praise coming from fans as well as those who knew how important Sidhu was.
“Sidhu's death is not only sad for the world but for every person. It will never go away," commented Sharmila Tagore.
“I still remember a time when Sidhu made some wonderful hits on TV and we were sitting here watching the show and I had to ask him why he chose to do a tribute song for me on social media," said actor Vicky Kaushal.
He spoke next about the first date they had at Sanju’s restaurant and everything else he had to tell them later on.
In order to honour his mentor, he decided to give Sidhu’s voice one more try. “We thought a big picture song would be good for the album,” he remarked.
“We wrote the story and lyrics and recorded our version of the song around three days before the recording started.
We wanted to make sure it stood out right from the start. Then a fan of mine shared it on Facebook and we finally got it done," he told Indian Express.com.
6. Recording of the track SYL
His team has finished production right now and will soon begin recording the track “SYL”. It will be a tribute to the old icon and will include some parts of the song “SYL” that had not been used or included much before.
They will then put it out on streaming platforms and make it available to listeners all across the globe. All of this will happen simultaneously without any prior notice.
That’s because they need to avoid any controversies that might pop up later. Also, the way the process works, nothing can be leaked in public domain.
Only verified members of the crew will be given access.
7. Posthumous Collaboration
Sidhhartha Moosewala died earlier today, but a posthumous collaboration is already in progress as part of the “Akshen Parwanne Prasad” project.
The duo behind the album, Yash Raj Films, has promised an exciting journey after the pandemic ends with a retelling of the story from the very first meeting between Sidhu and the legendary filmmaker Akshay Kumar.
Apart from being a great friend and mentor to Sidhu, Akshay was a true artiste, and is surely going to leave indelible mark on everyone who knows him.
8. Concluaion
Sidhgarh Moosewaal was also an absolute human being, who was kind, funny, generous and just plain honest.
He was also someone who had a deep sense of humour. Sidharth Moosewala wasn't just somebody who contributed musically, but a person who was there for you if you needed it the most.
His untimely demise will definitely continue to live in the hearts of musicians and will never be forgotten. It was his heart that gave Sidhu the strength and courage to stand up for what is right.
